In most cultures, there are flower superstitions related to different types of flowers, where and when to give flowers, the growing or finding of flowers, and fortune-telling with flowers. Some flower superstitions go back a long way and relate to earlier myths about flowers, while others could relate to medicinal uses of flowers. Many flower superstitions go so far back into the realm of folk ways that their origins are uncertain.

In some places, it is thought bad luck to give someone an even number of flowers, because even numbers of flowers are reserved for the dead.
Speaking of flowers for the dead, don't take flowers off a grave, or you might soon find yourself in one.
